Using the CDN with Wordpress

After signing up for the Netsonic Global CDN Service and setting up your new URL, ie., cdn.yourdomain.com, you will be given instructions on updating DNS for that new hostname. Once you have updated DNS to reflect this new hostname, you can then configure your Wordpress site as detailed below:

Installing the CDN Plugin

  1. Login to the Wordpress Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to Plugin page then click on Add New.
  3. Type W3 Total Cache into the search field.
  4. Install W3 Total Cache and activate it.

Migrate Contents to CDN

  1. Open the Settings page of the W3 Total Cache plugin from the Plugin page.
  2. Under General Settings page, scroll down to CDN, tick to enable and choose CDN Type as Generic Mirror.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Select Content Delivery Network (CDN) Setting from the top menu within the W3 Total Cache plugin page.
  5. Insert the CDN URL we have provided into Replace site's hostname with. Click Test Mirror to verify.
  6. Save changes.
  7. Activate the changes on General Settings Page.
  8. If you see the informational warning at the top of the W3 Total Cache plugin page referencing a Preview mode change, click the Disable Preview mode button to enable the CDN. You may need to review the previous changes to make sure they did not get removed.

Verification

Verify if your Wordpress blog is on CDN by viewing the HTML source code. Image links shall be replaced with CDN URLs.
