FTP errors, what do I have to do?

Once you are connected, simply switch to passive mode (your FTP client will support this in it's configuration options) then your FTP transfers will be successful. This is due to the firewalling and intrusion detection systems we use.

It is still best, however, to use SFTP (secure FTP) because your credentials will not be passed in plain text when you login. Filezilla is a great (free) FTP client supporting FTP over SSH. This will keep you from sending your login credentials in clear text over the net and it will eliminate the need to deal with passive FTP settings.
